Fit
Hand geometry, grip diameter and what getting it wrong does to your swing. Standard, midsize and jumbo — measured properly.
Grip weight, size and texture all influence how a club performs — not just how it feels. East Coast Golf Customs is a small fitting service run by a golfer, helping other golfers find the right grip for their game.

We offer the widest range of grips from all the best known brands as well as a few lesser known from around the world.
We hold a small stock but if required, your grips can be ordered for next day delivery and be in your hands as quickly as possible.
The 5-F approach is how every conversation runs. It takes the guesswork out of picking a grip and turns it into something you can actually feel for yourself, club in hand.
Hand geometry, grip diameter and what getting it wrong does to your swing. Standard, midsize and jumbo — measured properly.
Rubber, cord, hybrid. Surface texture and responsiveness in the hands. Preference is real — and worth chasing.
The trade-off between dampening and feedback. How much you want to hear the strike through the shaft.
The Scottish one. Wet hands, cold mornings, rain on the back nine. Cord grips earn their keep here.
Personality and finish. Grip colour, alignment, ferrules. The detail that makes a set unmistakably yours.

Quick-change fitting equipment lets you try different grip options on a real club, with real shots, before deciding. Once you’ve found your grip, if they are in stock they can be fitted right away or they can be ordered and installed as soon as they arrive.
The headline service. Full 5-F walk-through, try before you decide, then I order the grips you need and get them on your clubs as soon as they arrive — shaft cleaned, grip seated straight with the logo set to your preference.
Steel shafts replaced — sourced through True Temper, Nippon or KBS. Old shaft pulled, hosel cleaned, fresh epoxy, ferrule fitted, cut to length and gripped to finish.
Standalone or as part of a regrip or reshaft. We can source plain black, or all manner of different colours and combos!
Beam-balance scale in the workshop. Worth knowing before a regrip — a 2g grip change is roughly one swing-weight point, and it shows up in your strike.
Loft & lie adjustment, graphite reshafting and a fitting simulator are all on the roadmap. Ask if there's something specific you're after.
No itemised labour, no surprises. The price you see is the price fitted. Shaft replacements are charged at shaft cost plus a £20 fitting fee per club.
Full grip menu — Golf Pride, Iomic, SuperStroke, Garsen, Star Grip, DragonSkin, Winn and The Grip Master — available on request.
East Coast Golf Customs is run by Stuart — a golfer who got tired of seeing players hand over their clubs to faceless workshops and quick-swap services that don't ask the right questions.
Same person on the phone as the one working on your clubs. Honest pricing, careful work, time taken to get it right. Based at Haddington Golf Club — the workshop is up and running; the space itself is still being finished off.

Follow along for grip installs, before-and-afters, and what's coming through the workshop.
Call, text or email with what you play and what you'd like to look at, and we'll set up a fitting.
